About More Than a Device Project
More Than a Device is a pilot project led by Protect Children, which aims to engage parents and caregivers in digital safety education and empower them to pass these skills to their children.
The project will identify the most effective ways to reach parents and caregivers with digital safety skills education and pilot their preferred methods of training in five countries: the UK, France, Spain, Italy, and Finland.

More Than a Device will also enable and empower parents and caregivers to discuss digital safety with their children via an innovative, interactive, and easy to use online training platform that will contain podcasts, short video series, and interactive exercises - parents can choose their preferred training method! Parents will have opportunities to give feedback on the preferred methods of training, contributing to the development of effective and tailored educational resources.

The project is funded by Google.org.

About Protect Children
Protect Children is a non-profit, non-governmental Helsinki-based organisation working internationally with a dedicated team advocating for the right of the child to be free from sexual violence. At Protect Children, we envision a future where no child is subject to any form of sexual abuse or exploitation.
We stand with victims, survivors, and their families affected by childhood sexual violence.
Founded in 2019 in Helsinki, Finland, Protect Children is a specialist non-governmental organisation with a primary focus to prevent sexual violence against children. The organisation brings together specialists with unique specialities into a strong and dedicated team, working tirelessly to strengthen children’s rights.

Together, we have years of expertise of national and international cooperation in preventing sexual violence against children, especially in the online environment. We help give a voice to children so that their views are heard in our communities. We advocate for child rights and support all efforts that guarantee that no child becomes a victim of sexual violence.

The purpose of all of our work is to raise awareness about the prevalence of sexual violence against children, and advocate for greater protections for children, in order to prevent such crimes from occurring.
